Getting help for Linux
The general perception of Linux, and Unix in general, is:
- Linux is very powerful...
- ...And very difficult
- There are lots of commands to learn
- And lots of esoteric flags and switches for those commands
- When you ask for help, the usual response is RTFM (read the f***ing
manual), but if you are new to Linux, you often have no idea which
f***ing manual you should be reading in the first place!
Linux has a vast amount of free information to help you grapple with the
learning curve, and this talk aims to show you how to find that
information.
